Suspension Event

A suspension event occurs when there is a provision in a hedge fund that prevents the withdrawal for the fund in a redemption period. Some things that can trigger a suspension event include; the fund cannot meet redemption requests, trading markets are closed, an accurate appraisal of assets/liabilities cannot be made, and a withdrawal will cause a breach in an agreement.
