Death Valley Curve

A description of a start-up company's rapid use of capital. It covers the time from when a start-up firm receives an initial capital contribution to when it begins generating revenues. It is called the Death Valley Curve because during that period from initial capital to revenue generation additional financing is usually scarce, leaving the firm vulnerable to cash flow problems.
