Accrued Market Discount

An increase in market value of a discounted bond that occurs because of its approaching maturity date (when it is redeemable at par). The accrued market discount is the purchase price of the bond subtracted from the bond's market value at any point in time following its purchase.

The discount is because the holder receives the par value in full upon maturity.
