A process undertaken by potential investors—individuals or institutions—to analyze and assess the desirability, value, and potential of an investment opportunity. Due diligence is a method to confirm all facts of a material nature in a sale. Due diligence usually involves reviewing financial records and anything else deemed material to the sale. It is the general care a buyer should take before entering into an agreement.
